Jumaane N’Namdi, director of N’Namdi Contemporary Miami, was introduced to the professional art world at the age of six. It was at this time in 1981, when his father, George, founded the G.R. N’Namdi Gallery in Detroit, Mi. Reared in the gallery business and amid an extensive family art collection, Jumaane developed his innate appreciation and understanding for the interrelationship of art, artist, culture and collector.

Upon graduation from Morehouse College in 1997, Jumaane, began his formal career in the arts at what was then the burgeoning G.R. N’Namdi Gallery Chicago. His discerning eye began to distinguish great pieces from good ones, making it possible for his art patrons to meet world-renowned artists and to develop some of the country’s most prestigious art collections. While under his father’s tutelage, Jumaane quickly assumed the directorship of G.R. N’Namdi Gallery Chicago and subsequently expanded G.R. N’Namdi Gallery to New York. In 2012, Jumaane utilized his experience in curating private and corporate collections and in 2012 opened N’Namdi Contemporary Fine Art Miami.

Amassing 25 years of experience Jumaane has developed a knack for fusing the masters with mid-career and fresh emerging talent, creating an international array of unique artists. 

While cultivating new audiences, Jumaane keeps a special focus on three concepts: education, culture, and aesthetics. He has spear headed the Careers of artist such as Ed Clark, Herbert Gentry, Rashid Johnson, Frank Bowling, Al Loving, Stephen Arboite as well as countless others.

N’Namdi has worked to place works in permanent collections as well as exhibits works from his personal collection with institutions such as: Art Institute of Chicago, The Detroit Institute of Arts, Pérez Art Museum Miami, Museum of Contemporary Art Miami, The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, The Telfair Museum, The Smithsonian, Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture, The Studio Museum of Harlem, Cranbrook Art Museum, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, and The FIU Frost Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine Art to name a few.

As an art consultant, N’Namdi has curated numerous private and corporate collections and has published a variety of art catalogs including Allie McGhee: Micro to Macro, Ed Clark: Master Painter, Frank Bowling: Full of Light, Herbert Gentry: The Man, The Master, The Magic, James A Porter: From Me to You, Nanette Carter: Aqueous, Richard Mayhew: MoodScapes. Tyrone Mitchell: Resisting Arrest, McArthur Binion: Simplicism, and Robert Colescott: Troubled Goods.

Jumaane has a vast appreciation for all the arts. He is on the board of Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami and Fountainhead Residency and serves as the Treasurer for his daughter’s school PTA.


Lauren F.C. N’Namdi

Lauren F. C. N’Namdi is an accomplished art and design professional and co-owner of N’Namdi Contemporary Fine Art in Miami, Florida. Alongside her husband, Jumaane N’Namdi, she helps guide the gallery’s mission to present critically engaged art grounded in education, culture, and aesthetics.

With sixteen years of professional experience in Interior Design, Construction Management, and Relocation Management, Lauren has built a multidisciplinary career spanning New York City, Detroit, and Miami. She previously served as Senior Project Manager within the Project and Development Service division at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), overseeing design and construction processes for corporate interior buildouts, office relocations, and complex capital projects.

Earlier in her career, Lauren spent twelve years in New York as Facilities Manager for the Americas, Caribbean, and Asia Pacific regions at British Airways, where she directed capital planning and project management across corporate, hospitality, and industrial airport environments. She began her professional path as an Interior Designer with the corporate interiors firm NELSON.

Lauren earned her Master of Science in Interior Design from Pratt Institute and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Spelman College. She also studied art and Italian in Florence, Italy, at Studio Art International, deepening her foundation in global art history and design.

Since relocating to Miami in 2016, Lauren has remained deeply engaged in civic, educational, and cultural service. She has volunteered with the Posse Foundation, partnered with Breakthrough Miami on fundraising initiatives, and is an active member of The Girl Friends, Inc., Miami Chapter, serving as Scholarship Chair and sitting on the Board of Directors for the Girl Friend Fund. She also serves in the Miami Chapter of Jack and Jill of America as Vice President and Membership Chair, and is the President of the PTA at her daughters’ school, reflecting her commitment to supporting youth, families, and community centered leadership. Lauren is also one of the founding members of the 20/20 Visionaries, a collective of twenty-two Spelman alumnae who established an endowed scholarship fund exceeding $500,000 to support creatively driven women entering Spelman College.

Rooted in family, Lauren draws daily inspiration from her creative, loving daughters, Nataki and Shola, with whom she shares a vibrant life alongside her husband Jumaane and their dogs Davu and Lox.


Nikki David

Gallery Manager

Nikki David serves as the Gallery Manager of N’Namdi Contemporary Fine Art in Miami, FL, where she brings a unique blend of creative vision, community minded leadership, and over a decade of experience working in dynamic public facing roles. With a background grounded in the arts and communications, she leads with a strong commitment to artist visibility, cultural engagement, and exceptional visitor experiences. Nikki’s work centers on connecting artist’s with audiences, fostering meaningful community relationships, and advancing the gallery’s mission to education, culture, and aesthetics through art that sparks dialogue and deepens cultural understanding.

Nikki earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She expanded her global perspective through a study abroad program in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she immersed herself in the country’s language, art history, and architectural traditions, an experience that continues to influence her eye for cultural nuance and visual storytelling.

Before transitioning into the art world, Nikki spent more than ten years working in hospitality and nightlife as a VIP Manager. Her deep expertise in relationship building, guest experience, and operations now shapes the warm, attentive, and dynamic environment she brings to the gallery each day.

Outside of her work at N’Namdi Contemporary, Nikki serves as Secretary on her son’s school PTA, reflecting her commitment to education, community engagement, and creating accessible entry points to the arts. She is passionate about supporting artist exposure, connecting with art admirers, and helping the gallery serve as a cultural anchor in Miami.

Nikki is a proud mother to three boys, Kero, Kyu, and Koden, who inspire her daily dedication, creativity, and drive.
